youth art lessons in Newtown PA

Unfortunately I currently cannot accept new students.

I highly recommend: seufertart.com

alfineartstudio.com, or ravensrunarts.com for great art classes for kids!

Bucks Community College has summer art camps too.

CLASS INFO  Classes are held September through May starting shortly after Labor Day and ending the week before Memorial Day.  Students 4th grade and up learn the fundamentals of good drawing skills while exploring various art mediums including but not limited to pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic on canvas, and watercolor. (No crafts) This is a traditional fine art drawing and painting class geared towards having fun and building confidence. Small class sizes of 6 students or less ensures individual attention and that students progress at their own pace.   Each class is made up of students of mixed ages and skill levels.  We do not all copy the same sample painting in these classes.  Every art project is customized to your child's interests!  Students are encouraged to invest their time and effort into producing quality art as opposed to quantity - this is not a race.

ART FOR A CAUSE:  Each spring we have an "Art for A Cause" themed art show held at Countryside Gallery in historic Newtown in early June.  Art can do more than decorate!  Art can educate, influence and inspire. I encourage students to use art to raise awareness and support the causes that they are passionate about in a positive and proactive way.

from PORTRAITS OF CHANGE:

A few of our past art show themes:

"Discovering America's Treasures Through Art": A tribute to our National Park System

"Portraits of Change":  A tribute to individuals who took great risks to stand up for peace, equality, helping those who cannot help themselves and embracing each others differences. The art show was a fundraiser for The Peace Center of Langhorne's antibullying school programs. To get involved or donate click here: www.thepeacecenter.org

"One Planet": wildlife vulnerable to climate change.  Students raised awareness concerning the impact that global warming is having on wildlife.  Participating students were recognized in the U.S. House of Representatives by Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick!  Click this link to view the YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/XENwBlpv6d8

SPRING ART SHOW:

Participating in our spring art show does help build confidence and gives students a goal to work towards. Our shows also offer your family and friends a chance to be included in celebrating your child's achievements and show their support during our Opening Day Reception parties. (And hey...who doesn't love free cookies!)

FRAMING:  I do not require students to frame their work for our spring art show.  However if you do frame your work after the art show I hope you will consider using COUNTRYSIDE FRAMES in historic Newtown.  I have used Countryside Frames many times and they do an amazing, high quality job with excellent frame design suggestions. Richard and Michael have been very generous in hosting our Art for A Cause student art shows at Countryside for many years.  They have been very supportive of youth art in our community and have offered good advice to our aspiring young artists.  Often the professional artists who show their work at Countryside have come out to support our kids as well. Thank you Richard and Michael for all you do!
